The Melonville Comedy Festival started in 1994, and is the area's
only comedy festival. Bob Zany and Auggie
Smith can be seen both Friday, January 30th and Saturday January 31st show
times are at 8:00.
Tickets are $30 each and will be available December 1st
at the Hermiston Chamber office, and at RoeMarks Men's Wear. The show is
sponsored by the Desert River Inn, and KORD and 97 Rock radio.

“The Melonville Comedy Festival” is the new name of for the ‘Superbowl of Comedy’.
Why the name change?
“The NFL has been coming down on the use of the words Super Bowl used together in any form’” according to Smith. “Who wants to mess with them guys.”
The Show started in 1992 at Umatilla County Fairgrounds and has grown ever since. Most of the money raised goes toward charities, including the Special Olympics, who sell food at the show.
Nearly $12,000 dollars have been given out since the show has started.
Past comics have included. Auggie Smith, Derrick Cameron, Dwight Slade, Costaki Economopoulous, Lord Carrett, David Crowe, James Johan and Mitch Hedberg. “In the world of concert type stand up comedy, these guys are the big leaguers.” Smith Said.
